报告摘要:
Magneto-optical Kerr effect is a very efficient way to probe the magnetization on magnetic thin films: a picture of the magnetic configuration can be obtained within a few seconds. However, it doesn't provide all the information required. Indeed, the picture obtained is a map of the magnetization direction, but its amplitude cannot be deduced. In addition, it records a static configuration, there is no information about what is really happening during the reversal of the magnetization. We present here two new ways to get information about these two questions : monitoring the Kerr effect under a focused laser spot of small size (a few µm), it becomes possible to probe real time how reversal occurs. For the amplitude of magnetization, we use NV microscopy, which probes the stray field above the sample. This quantitative information can be used to deduce the magnetization amplitude with a very high sensitivity.
