Jiyang Fan received the B.Sc. in optics from Shandong University and M.Sc. in theoretical physics from the Institute of Theoretical Physics in the Chinese Academy of Sciences and PhD in condensed matter physics from Nanjing University (2006). He is a fellow of IAAM (International Association of Advanced Materials). He visited and conducted research in Department of Physics of City University of Hong Kong several times during 2005–2010. He was a senior visiting scholar in Department of Physics of University of Arkansas (USA) during 20122013. Our research group members have studied the physical properties of various types of semiconductor nanomaterials (particularly quantum dots) for many years. The major current research interest of our group involves semiconductor nanocrystals focusing on their electronic, optical, and mechanical properties; other interests include carbon nanomaterials, plasmonics, and applications of nanocrystals in optoelectronic devices. He has coauthored more than eighty peer-reviewed journal (including Phys. Rev. Lett., Appl. Phys. Rev., Nano Lett., Small, Appl. Phys. Lett., J. Phys. Chem. Lett.) papers and one monograph (Springer). He has served as the invited reviewer for over eighty SCI-indexed journals. He was supported by the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University funded by Chinese Ministry of Education.
