Jiyang Fan received the B.Sc. in optics from Shandong University in 1996, M.Sc. in theoretical physics from the Institute of Theoretical Physics in the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2001, and Ph.D. in condensed matter physics from Nanjing University in 2006. He visited and conducted research in Department of Physics of City University of Hong Kong several times during 2005–2010. He was a senior visiting scholar in Department of Physics of University of Arkansas (USA) during 20122013.Our research group has studied the physical properties of various types of semiconductor nanomaterials (particularly quantum dots) for many years. The major current research interest of our group involves semiconductor nanocrystals focusing on their electronic, optical, and mechanical properties; other interests include carbon nanomaterials, plasmonics, and applications of nanocrystals in optoelectronic devices. He has coauthored more than sixty peer-reviewed journal (including Phys. Rev. Lett., Appl. Phys. Lett., J. Phys. Chem. Lett.) papers and one monograph (Springer). He has served as the invited reviewers for over seventy scientific journals. He was supported by the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University funded by Chinese Ministry of Education during 2014–2017.
